When asked how long I have been a photographer, the sensible response would be “since 2004.” However, I fell in love with the art of photography at just nine years old.
I grew up in a small Connecticut suburb and my Christmas wish lists consisted not of barbies and legos but rather of zoom lenses and new tripods.
My path after graduating college led me to a career in the sciences. Even so, any time spent outside the laboratory was consumed with exploring new photography techniques, learning more camera settings, and most importantly, taking photos of the people, places, and things I loved the most.
It was in 2004 when I fully listened to my heart and officially launched Litchfield Hills Photography. Between pursuing entrepreneurship and raising two young daughters, I had certainly entered uncharted territory! I then earned my Certified Professional Photographer degree, participated in countless print competitions, and served as an executive board member for the CTPPA. As Isaac Newton once said, “if I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” My giants were my mentors, my colleagues who are also dear friends, and my loving family.
As a creative, I constantly challenge myself to be genuine, think outside of the box, and provide my clients with a fun experience they won’t forget. Most importantly, I view a photograph as much more than a mere summation of pixels. It is a fleeting second frozen in time. It is a celebration of the little moments we live for. It is an everlasting memory that will be cherished for generations to come. :)
